Okay, it looks like I'm going to be unable to get the non-browser caching finished so soon after all. I'm having a lot of problems with it. Going to add a couple of new enemies instead.
wowowowow~!!!!!!...this would actually make me go out to the inner city....but i would have loved the non browser caching feature more... than the boss loots....:/
well...please update on the blog when the new zombies and boss loots are added
Are you still adding boss loots? Shame about the non-browser cache, it's OK if I've been in the city in the past few hours, but otherwise I have to wait through the loading screen for up to 5 minutes. :/
New enemies are gonna be wicked, when will they be added, today?
Going out Grinding one day and Finding a Wraith charging you or a Bloat Wandering around the city.
If Admin tells us when everything is going to be and what it is there's no Surprise in that. Maybe a Little Thrill seeing it but you already knew it was coming.
yeah nick i agree with goober dooper when i read this post i said hmm i know he didnt tell us what enemies or when so we get a big suprise i have my main out looting right now and nothing would be greater then seeing a bloat orbarf women or anything new while i was looting. o and the hard enemies i think where the guy with a giant tounge and gills and the spider cause spider seems to have to much stuff and be a whole lot different then others and the tounge guy well it would be a little complicated to make a zombie with death tounge. although i think the 2 fat zombies and the reaper and the siren will be added if someone have different ideas of zombies please reply
I understand... But it just delays the Boss Looting and the Bug Fixes. I don't know why he doesn't just implement the Boss Loots and Bug Fixes.

It's how Neil wants to do it, I just don't like it.
I'm currently studying to get my software engineering degree, you guys who are impatient underestimate how much work goes into updates, especially if Admin is the only developer working on getting updates out. Its not like he can just sit down and add substantial extra content in a day, or even a week. Coding takes time, and debugging in some cases even more so. Remember this game is still in the Beta stages, not everything is ironed out. Be patient and play the game, the updates will come soon enough. IMHO Admin is doing a great job, you all wouldn't even know about some of the potential updates if he hadn't posted it a few days ago. You'd all be super pumped for the new zombies if that was all he posted. Be thankful for what you get, complaining won't motivate him to code like superman (which you seem to be expecting of him).
The sad and rather stupid truth is that no matter what the Admin does he wont make everyone happy, however for only a small group of developers(i think only 2) he is doing fantastic, you can't expect him to just snap his fingers and update the game. like Emil said it's very time consuming
And P.S. in my opinion the game has already made a huge leap in greatness when it went 3D you guys should be glad he at least got that up, so stop complaining, and good job Admin
@Sunny. he is the ONLY one working on the programming of DF. But His updates are bad, Starting to think that admin wastes his money on his fammily instead on keeping some of it for the game.

Admin has Made Dead Frontier to such an extent he Now lives off it so he HAS to put money into Dead Frontier and Develop Dead Frontier in Order to GET Money from Dead Frontier. If you want to complain that The Updates aren't good enough then By all means Complain, But what are you going to gain out of that? NOTHING! Nobody Gets ANYTHING Out of Complaining! @Gooberdooper what I mean by that is, That he spends all the money on his family, But in order to keep a business alive (DF for a real example), you will need money put by, and buying the GM will help with it, but with the stuff for it, its proving hes rick rolling everyone with Gm. So he ever needs to start puting money by for this to improve it, or get ready for bills rolling in for DF.
And to everyone who thinks this is pathetic that the amount of time we have had to wait for boss loots are over timed, he said it will take a day or two, not a whole week.
Yes you have to support your family, but at the end of the day you are also running a not-quite-there-yet MMO that relies on its few dedicated players, if those players get fed up and leave, Admin loses his income.
I'm sure Admin makes more than enough money off of GM's and Credits to support his family, else he would not have made Dead Frontier his sole income.
In future I just think Admin should try be a little more realistic with his deadlines, if he managed to do that - we would avoid ALL of this flaming.
Just keep trying, the best features of a game, often take awhile to perfect. I'm looking forward to those new boss types.
And what ever happened to that pregnant type zombie with the arms reaching out of her stomach? It wasn't on the wiki, did it get canceled?
BTW: I read an earlier blog post of yours, talking about a storyline. I already wrote a basic draft of a storyline for you for the farmer class's intro mission (script with actions and gameplay, not like a fanfiction), I was kinda wanting your feedback.
@RunAmokRun666: I do think there can be good reasons he hasn't released the update yet. Could be some goofy assed bug that popped up when he was test running something in private. Like he went to loot a Titan on a test character in Single Player on a private setup so only he had the update installed and it dropped the character level to 1 and you only got a box of Dog Biscuits. Who knows... I'm just bein' patient and waiting for that non-browser caching thing the most. Slow as hell connection on my end due to boonies being my location.
He updates the blog once every 1 and a half month. After updating, he says the new update will take 2 days, it's almost a week now. It's not even like he's passed the update release date the first time. He does it almost every time.
I don't care if you guys comment like "OMG what a douchebag, he has a family to look after" or "The game went from 2D to 3D which is a major update anyway"
All I ask for is that he should at least tell us whats going on! If you said 2 days and 2 days are passed, tell us why there's a delay. It would atleast stop us from flaming at you.
He should keep up more with the blog, I agree, but you need to remember that he doesn't have an army of programmers to work with, so of course some updates won't happen at the estimated time.
If I am correct, it's only been Admin, his brother, and a few other people.
I wouldn't mind if the update came 2 weeks from now. I'm just pissed that he hasn't just logged onto a computer and said "Sorry guys, there's something going on with boss loots/new enemies and it won't be released till (blank)." All we are looking for is a pulse Admin!Were not that angry with you! XD

sunny38walker huh well 3d would please us all but havn't you noticed? 2d is gone and by that i mean it is still here but we can't do oa in 2d, we can't get exp from 2d missions we can't get money from 2d missions so 2d is even more worthless then 3d. so we wouldn't be flaming if 2d was like it used to. today we can't enjoy ourselfs a bit without 2d. who agrees with me? who thinks there would be less complaning if admin put 2d with everything on it. so don't be making excuses that 3d would please us because one it did sort of but now we are force to play it becuase of all the things that happened in 2d. p.s what is one thing better about 2d then 3d now? it used to be missions but now there isn't anything to do with the missions
All of you complaining let Admin do his work the more time he takes the better cause we dont want updates with bugs and errors hes trying to fix alot of stuff so give him a break! Try and make a game alone i bet it will suck! Admin has made an awesome impressive game and he plans to make it better so all of you better have patience and thank Admin for all his hard work. Hes doing this for us by making the game funner just cause he said that he would have updates in 1 or 2 days doesnt mean you go and complain. Its hard to make a game especially alone so i say Thanks Admin for all your hardwork! and keep making Dead Frontier an awesome game! For me i dont even care if 3D doesnt have missions cause missions arent a big deal. I get my money looting! So Thanks for everything Admin and keep up the hard work :D

I've been wondering, i am a fan i love this game so I've decided to learn unity the day it came out in 3d, but i haven't been doing it and i'm satisfied in what i can learn from you, through emails lol im an Aussie so email me in df or real life okay i'd be happy for a yes or no.
hey i have a family to take care of but still i manage to post stuff and do things i want and hey were the one who pays him. sure he has a family but were his online family and we take top priority being we are basically paying for him to take care of his family. but hey this is what he signed up for when he made a mmo, its not like he had no idea how hard it would be
hey is it me or does dead frontier more laggy and take longer to load the areas? becuase it used to load fast for me until now. i want to know if any body thinks the same thing
Try "cometbird" browser. Allows you to play the game more smoothly. Though I highly recommend not making this ur main browser for other things as its way slower than chrome. Only use it to play deadfrontier xD
you sure it is safe the cometbird does it like gives you pop pages automaticly from advertizments or something? cause i am really cautions about stuff.
I think mr admin should attempt to implement the updates before telling us, then judging from the problems he runs into, giving us a accurate estimation, I don't care if im waiting a month i just want to know im waiting a month, rather than holding my breathe or at the least frequent( everyother day updates) on progress a sentence or too is within his means, and i think not knowing is what is pissing people off( myself not included im k lol)

Thanks Admin for making such an awesome game!! I've gaming for ever, and just a handful of games manage to capture my attention long enough for me to play. I can play Dead Frontier for hours and loose myself in it: and that's games are suppose to do. Don't mind people who complaint, no matter how much you can try satisfy people, you can't; that's just human nature. Updates are always welcome here =) Zombie Ninja
I agree that he's making such an awesome game and I don't care much about the game update but still I would like if he spend a little time of his to check this blog daily it's kinda a bit of depressing for me to check this blog for weeks without an update to this blog it just like me being left in the dark not knowing news around. I would love a daily update to this blog even it's nothing important I also appreciate it cause it will at least make us inform what your up to Admin. No Offense alright guys? well if you think about it people are paying 7.50$ a month to be kept in the dark about updates that are forecast to be coming out yesterday(reference). and waiting to see something new while they do the repetitive task of either looting/leveling/pvp. I can see why people are raging.
Any kind of pulse is a good thing, Admin. Even if you just post every couple days with what you've been doing for the game, it would help the players feel much, much more complacent with the game. If this is truly a single source of income, it should be nurtured just like a plant. With constant attention to all the parts of it, not just the roots. (Horrible analogy, I know, but the fact still remains that constant input, something gamers are used to, is good when dealing with gamers. Especially something they're expectant about.)
Just to round off, I often don't play the game, and really am not planning to buy credits or a subscription because I never feel really jazzed about the game, despite the fact that I really like it. Minecraft, on the other hand, which has an active development blog, gets me playing often, since I check the blog every day or two for updates. Browser caching is extremely important, especially since I can immediately start playing a lot of other games, and I have to wait a good 5-10 minutes on my rate-limited college dorm internet to play. In the gamer's mind, Dead Frontier is an awful, awful decision in that situation.

I'm with Guy on this one, Admin did say he was going to add stuff in Two days... Two days come nothing new and no posts about WHY its taking longer, I'm just periodically logging in now to keep my account from getting deleted not actually playing DF anymore.
Agree with the two above. I no longer play, bored of the same old OA and looting, just logging in to keep acc from being deleted, maybe I'll come back to it in a year when these updates come out.

he did have 1 month and 2 weeks and nothing and actually your accouynt can still not be deleted after 2 months or more i have this old old account i didnt use it for 2 months and it didnt get deleted i just logged him to find out prices in doggs since he os there.
@Every single person who bitches at Admin... You're all fucking pathetic! Do any of you know how long it would actually take to implement all that he said he would? So it's been what? TEN days or so, maybe more... The point is, shit takes time to finish! Admin has to make sure that things are coded properly, so when you kill a Titan you don't get stupid shit, and only get stuff according to where the Titan was. Also for the new enemies, he has to find the right places for them, for instance, YOU WILL NEVER FIND A BONES OR TENDRILS NEAR NASTYA'S!!! He has to put them where moderately high-leveled players would be, so maybe in a few days you'll see them at Precinct or at Fort, but he has to make sure EVERYTHING is perfect because if he happens to make a mistake (Which everyone fucking does!) then everyone would bitch that "Ooh I killed this Titan and it gave me Baseball Bat!" or other shit like that. It needs to stop. Admin has been in the city recently, quite a bit in fact, probably making sure shit goes right. If he rushes, there will be more bugs, and more people will be pissy, but if he takes his time, and ensures that everything is the way it should be, then more people will be happy! So give the man a break, he deserves it. And maybe, just MAYBE, he doesn't have enough funds for everything right now? Who knows how much it takes to keep adding new shit, either way, every week (Fridays) I always buy $20 worth of credits. It may not be much, but if everyone did that, then shit might get added quicker.
alex i agree for your first part but admin already gets enough money he lives off the game so i am pretty sure if we payed even more he will be much richer how much will it cost to add stuff to the game? it costs about 100$ or more a month for a website to keep running and i am pretty sure every logg in gives the site a fraction of a cent but i think it would be enough for the money he pays a month. i am not sure if this is true for dead frontier but that is what i heard. and yeah if you every have to much credits just tell me and you can sell them for me cheap ;) just kidding P.S what does it cost for him to implant stuff? can someone anwser no one does :(

Fairly certain it takes a bit more than that to manage the game, and at this stage, the game is pretty "indie," so I doubt he's rakin' in any kind of serious dough.
@Alex Yes, we know that! (Or at least I do.) But it doesn't give him an excuse to NOT inform the community why its taking so long or why he didn't make the deadline! I agree with you, he needs to take his time to make a good game but he can still tell us whats going on or stop making bad guesses at when stuff will be out!

ReplyDeleteYes you have to support your family, but at the end of the day you are also running a not-quite-there-yet MMO that relies on its few dedicated players, if those players get fed up and leave, Admin loses his income.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure Admin makes more than enough money off of GM's and Credits to support his family, else he would not have made Dead Frontier his sole income.
In future I just think Admin should try be a little more realistic with his deadlines, if he managed to do that - we would avoid ALL of this flaming.

@RunAmokRun666: I do think there can be good reasons he hasn't released the update yet. Could be some goofy assed bug that popped up when he was test running something in private. Like he went to loot a Titan on a test character in Single Player on a private setup so only he had the update installed and it dropped the character level to 1 and you only got a box of Dog Biscuits. Who knows... I'm just bein' patient and waiting for that non-browser caching thing the most. Slow as hell connection on my end due to boonies being my location.

ReplyDeleteHe updates the blog once every 1 and a half month. After updating, he says the new update will take 2 days, it's almost a week now. It's not even like he's passed the update release date the first time. He does it almost every time.
I don't care if you guys comment like "OMG what a douchebag, he has a family to look after" or "The game went from 2D to 3D which is a major update anyway"
All I ask for is that he should at least tell us whats going on! If you said 2 days and 2 days are passed, tell us why there's a delay. It would atleast stop us from flaming at you.

ReplyDeleteHe should keep up more with the blog, I agree, but you need to remember that he doesn't have an army of programmers to work with, so of course some updates won't happen at the estimated time.
If I am correct, it's only been Admin, his brother, and a few other people.
I wouldn't mind if the update came 2 weeks from now. I'm just pissed that he hasn't just logged onto a computer and said "Sorry guys, there's something going on with boss loots/new enemies and it won't be released till (blank)."

sunny38walker huh well 3d would please us all but havn't you noticed? 2d is gone and by that i mean it is still here but we can't do oa in 2d, we can't get exp from 2d missions we can't get money from 2d missions so 2d is even more worthless then 3d. so we wouldn't be flaming if 2d was like it used to. today we can't enjoy ourselfs a bit without 2d. who agrees with me? who thinks there would be less complaning if admin put 2d with everything on it. so don't be making excuses that 3d would please us because one it did sort of but now we are force to play it becuase of all the things that happened in 2d.

All of you complaining let Admin do his work the more time he takes the better cause we dont want updates with bugs and errors hes trying to fix alot of stuff so give him a break! Try and make a game alone i bet it will suck! Admin has made an awesome impressive game and he plans to make it better so all of you better have patience and thank Admin for all his hard work. Hes doing this for us by making the game funner just cause he said that he would have updates in 1 or 2 days doesnt mean you go and complain. Its hard to make a game especially alone so i say Thanks Admin for all your hardwork! and keep making Dead Frontier an awesome game! For me i dont even care if 3D doesnt have missions cause missions arent a big deal. I get my money looting! So Thanks for everything Admin and keep up the hard work :D

ReplyDeleteTry "cometbird" browser. Allows you to play the game more smoothly. Though I highly recommend not making this ur main browser for other things as its way slower than chrome. Only use it to play deadfrontier xD

I can play Dead Frontier for hours and loose myself in it: and that's games are suppose to do. well if you think about it people are paying 7.50$ a month to be kept in the dark about updates that are forecast to be coming out yesterday(reference). and waiting to see something new while they do the repetitive task of either looting/leveling/pvp. I can see why people are raging.

ReplyDeleteAny kind of pulse is a good thing, Admin. Even if you just post every couple days with what you've been doing for the game, it would help the players feel much, much more complacent with the game. If this is truly a single source of income, it should be nurtured just like a plant. With constant attention to all the parts of it, not just the roots. (Horrible analogy, I know, but the fact still remains that constant input, something gamers are used to, is good when dealing with gamers. Especially something they're expectant about.)
ReplyDeleteJust to round off, I often don't play the game, and really am not planning to buy credits or a subscription because I never feel really jazzed about the game, despite the fact that I really like it. Minecraft, on the other hand, which has an active development blog, gets me playing often, since I check the blog every day or two for updates.
Browser caching is extremely important, especially since I can immediately start playing a lot of other games, and I have to wait a good 5-10 minutes on my rate-limited college dorm internet to play. In the gamer's mind, Dead Frontier is an awful, awful decision in that situation.

ReplyDelete@Every single person who bitches at Admin... You're all fucking pathetic! Do any of you know how long it would actually take to implement all that he said he would? So it's been what? TEN days or so, maybe more... The point is, shit takes time to finish! Admin has to make sure that things are coded properly, so when you kill a Titan you don't get stupid shit, and only get stuff according to where the Titan was. Also for the new enemies, he has to find the right places for them, for instance, YOU WILL NEVER FIND A BONES OR TENDRILS NEAR NASTYA'S!!! He has to put them where moderately high-leveled players would be, so maybe in a few days you'll see them at Precinct or at Fort, but he has to make sure EVERYTHING is perfect because if he happens to make a mistake (Which everyone fucking does!) then everyone would bitch that "Ooh I killed this Titan and it gave me Baseball Bat!" or other shit like that. It needs to stop. Admin has been in the city recently, quite a bit in fact, probably making sure shit goes right. If he rushes, there will be more bugs, and more people will be pissy, but if he takes his time, and ensures that everything is the way it should be, then more people will be happy! So give the man a break, he deserves it. And maybe, just MAYBE, he doesn't have enough funds for everything right now? Who knows how much it takes to keep adding new shit, either way, every week (Fridays) I always buy $20 worth of credits. It may not be much, but if everyone did that, then shit might get added quicker.
ReplyDeletealex i agree for your first part but admin already gets enough money he lives off the game so i am pretty sure if we payed even more he will be much richer how much will it cost to add stuff to the game? it costs about 100$ or more a month for a website to keep running and i am pretty sure every logg in gives the site a fraction of a cent but i think it would be enough for the money he pays a month. i am not sure if this is true for dead frontier but that is what i heard. and yeah if you every have to much credits just tell me and you can sell them for me cheap ;) just kidding
