Corpse Shooter!
We've just released a new Limited Edition pistol. The Corpse Shooter is the most powerful pistol in the game, and will only be available until February 29th so get it while you still can!
if this game ever gets really famous these guns would cost 10 million and around there becuase of the limit of them and the amount of players. but it would be smart to bring them back when the game as 20k+ players at once in the future. please admin lol
Look, Neil, I don't wanna sound disrespectful, but this is bullshit. You've been promising us for months that we'd have interiors, and the first update you post since december is this piece of shit. Seriously, I may be banned, but I still care about the game.
so maybe he is just releasing wepons like this and ammo stacks to make money for some time but maybe it is just to support him while he gets the other things done.
I don't like where this is going. If I don't have plans to buy any of the corpse weapons, do I just have to wait through a bunch of these 'updates' until something actually beneficial happens?
I don't get why people are so pissed at, what is essentially, an update. I mean, I get that you don't plan on using the gun and whatnot, but it's still an update, and shows that he is, in fact, working on the game.
To everyone who's complaining, this and the corpse grinder are the weapons i've been waiting for. Limited edition, powerful as hell. AND even if you dont plan to use it, get one, save it. Sell it, make a boat load. Everyone wins. the other corpse item's market prices have doubled since they were discontinued. That's an opportunity.
I was pure melee untill all the new enemies were added, and the grinder was the best saw at the time and it fell on its face in pastor. ESPECIALLY the first week before the tweeks. 4 flaming wraith out side of the Fort gate. and my best weapon was a grinder. Never complained. Just got excited for the progress and the notion that more powerful saws would be added. And here we are.
And now, a badass revolver thats stronger than my Alpha Bull, faster reload AND nearly FOUR times the clip size.. That. Rules.
Point is we all obviously love the game, and we all want to see it nearing completion sooner than later. But i'd rather see it done right and i know when its done, this game will be the ultimate. Besides, if you think Neil should hire a team to get the updates YOU want, that takes money. AKA Credit Shop Exclusives. So if you REALLY support the game, then support it. Look at the big picture and wait.

i have seen admin has made 4 very powerful weapon type builds. such as level 100 weapons like the alpha bull. then level 110 like the 475 magnum. then the 110 corpse guns like the corpse shooter. then the dusk. to bad i can only touch the tip of the ;eve ;100 weapons meaning grinder/ battle axe/katana and alpha bull and below can't afford higher
Just my two cents, people who are mad, totally justified. People defending him... kind of not. You'll need a better argument. You act like this shows a lot of work and "an update is an update". Well... no. Taking the code from another pistol, changing a few number values so it does more damage or whatever, and then slapping on the artists work over it is not that hard, nor an "update". But I understand that Neil is still probably hard at work and we'll get nicer things soon. Just... stop this. Its obvious that he's making more and more powerful weapons in an attempt to make everyone want it and buy it. But if you need money to continue production, give us something small we all want or care for. Not just a new "OMGUBERWEAPON" every month.
Its hilarious how Neil is taking money out of you guys. As mentioned by Josh, these "updates" are not as significant as improvements like adding missions. I left this game in october 2011 thinking maybe it would be done around January as Neil said before. Its February and I spot an empty promise. Instead, I see too high-leveled people overnourishing Neil with wasted money for almost absolutely no improvement. If the game ever "launches", beginners would be found at many disadvantages. I wonder how long you can keep up this manipulating scam, Neil.
Adding ZOMFG LEET WEAPONS to get some easy money is not going to make the game any better, Neil.
It's almost been two years since 3D came out. And what's happened since then? New monsters, half-assed missions, weather cycle and background music.
Back in 2D, within the same amount of time, missions, bosses, interiors, new avatars, barricading, multiplayer, multiple map changes and the OA system were added.
You have no excuse whatsoever for the disaster DF has become in two years, Neil. Absolutely none whatsoever.
What medicpower and GG23 said are both spot on. Programming in "3D" is absolutely 100% the same as 2D. Only reason it would be harder is if the gameplay changed to a more 3D aspect, like GG23 said. Also, seeing as how its on a pre-made engine, it would be exactly the same anyway. Flo is also right by saying Neil has done much much much more work in the past in the same amount of time then now, and there is no real excuse.
You have absolutely no sense of coding if that is your argument. Neil is using a pre-made engine, so he does not have to code a single bit of the "3D" aspect. His coding techniques would practically exact to any 2D coding.

wow, there is so much negativity here... i fore one love this game, and always frequent is every couple of days, the in game community is allays outstanding when i am on, and then people come here to vent and rage about what they want? No wonder Niel stopped posting here, i understand why people are angry, the interiors would be nice, BUT THE MAN DISLOCATED HIS ARM!!! i will be renewing my gm soon and enjoying the hell out of the money well spent, you gys can rant and rave all you want, but it wont stop me and a hell of a lot of other people enjoying what is essentially a very fun game.
Dear Neil, PLEASE put back 2D. I want it back. I haven't been online for 2 months because of 3D. Why? Because 3D is not just my type. 2D rocks my world. Okay... I hope you're reading this... Tell me, why did you remove 2D?

I am not really criticizing the game so much as the development(although I could if you all want me to). The game is okay, but the game needs more significant improvement. Sure, subtract one arm from Neil, but add pairs of arms more from the development team he has or supposely has(Do not use the money excuse anymore. I am sick and tired of that). Also, what is unique about this game? I would like to know the answer to that. It's a wonderful thing that Neil has stopped posting. That is where he was enforcing the "empty" promise for every player. This could possibly be a discrete way of hiding that "empty promise". GM prices are ridiculous, by the way. I say this as a poor hispanic, but even I value every cent I possess. Vaultmaster, you can go ahead and spend your money how you wish to. It is most likely, though, what the possible opportunist Neil wants from you.

medicpower i understand your point, and the worry's about niel being an opportunist. i simply don't believe he is one though, but each to his own, there is no point in lying about it, you mentioned your financial situation and i wish you the best of luck, it is just chance and sercomstance that i can reasonably afford to pay the prices, no put down intended this is just my point of view, i could be wrong but i like to think that Niel is doing what he can to meat with the demand.
@Manuel Marj You're not the only one that wants 2d back and I think that Neil should allow players to access it with the loots,bosses, experience, and mission rewards intact again until he gets the missions and interiors programed into 3d. The main reasons I want 2d back is that haven't killed a green long or behemoth yet and I found death row harder than end zone.

Meaning, Everything that has been said here has already been said. There is no point in being parrots and repeating it. I believe AdminPwn is perfectly aware of what you all think of him, be it good or bad. Because he probably can't even get on his own game or come here with out it hitting him in the face. And to be honest. If I was him, I wouldn't really be MOTIVATED to work on a game when everywhere I went, either to my Dev Blog, In the actual game, or Forums everybody was hatin' on me.
Eventually I'd get fed up with the hatin' and get rid of it, but I don't know how AdminPwn would deal with it. And I'm not "kissing his ass" or some such. I'm stating what I'm seeing. I think AdminPwn should take care of himself. If AdminPwn DIDN'T then there would be no progress on the game anyways and no hope of there ever being any, if you catch my drift. However, I'm not saying Admin should take all the time in the world. The game is horribly under completed and I am certain he is aware of this and as soon as he can do what needs to be done he will do it, and whatever means should be taken to complete that goal.
I am not here "kissing his ass" nor am I insulting him. I am giving him the MOTIVATION he needs to get well and to WANT to work on his game. This is what he needs more of. He should want to come here, come to his game, or his forums. You make the choice. Do you think harsh words or overly sugar coated compliments will bring about Motivation, Progress, or most of all. AdminPwn himself? Neither of the above will do it entirely. Insults will destroy motivation or result in only provoking him. Sugar Coated Compliments may make him go complacent and lazy again.
To put it simply. Insulting him won't work. Neither will babying him. Do not insult him and do not baby him. Make him want to come here.

Your Game is Getting old and you have not Given it a Descent update in months! I quit after your sorry excuse for a Game got to repetitive! for me this is the time to lvl up . Sure barricades and interiiors make the game really interesting but I have a bit of trouble with looting - I go EZ for 8 hrs and get the same loot - .45 , food lvl below red wine ( forgot wat it is ) and of course ...... $$$$ . I mean I've loved this game the day I played it , but I want only one thing - the loot quality a bit higher . Ya ya , u want GM ... but i need better loot cause I have to beg from other peeps to survive and I have a Reactive and that does not look good -.- ah well this game perhaps may be repititive but this gives a chance to make alts and lvl 'em up !
Oh guys , I may have different opinions from u cause 1. I have 6 alts ( one for each wep ) and a main . And I have to lvl those alts up ( going EZ ) and yes , I dont want barricades cause that means I have to pay $$$ . Of course I wanna lvl up so I can go EZ longer and all that and get more money so I can afford the barricades . Btw , some peeps may wanna stock up on planks and nails ... just saying . ( They should have a storage alt or acc )
yeah well i have like 2 scientist accounts level 28 and 21. a level 31 farmer. a level 18 doctor, a level 15 engineer, a level 1 chef who i might not use till all the others are level 25 or 31. my main level 28 ish and i have to say i leveled him up in like a month when it took me a year for all the others. a used to be main level 41. then a shotgun account i used to try out shotguns since i really wanted to try them out. so all of these make about around 10k a week if i don't spend anything so i am in a good place but you titanus made acoount just for the wepons which isn't going get you as much. unless of course you made them scientist or farmers ect.. also nice way of talking back to that insult. not a angrily sort of way
actually they could make me 10k min and around 25k max a week to bad i use them to level up and suck and die a lot and that used up the half the weeks profit in 2 hours lol
How do people know admin is lazy, for all you know, he could be working his but off on interiors or trying to pay the bills, respect what he is doing because you don't know what he's doing or how hard he is working. You guys don't understand what it may take to actually develop interiors, maybe he has to go through the whole entire map, redesigning buildings and such, typing endless codes. If that were the case, of course it would take forever to make interiors. So what if he is making LE items, they wouldn't take as long to make, as they are a small piece to the game and if anything, he could take other weapons statistics and modify em, adding a new picture. I don't know exactly how he does it, but i doubt it would take a long time and interfere with big updates. I love deadfrontier, and even if it does get repetitive, play another game for the time being. Do you think flaming would help him accomplish anything? Just be respectful and understanding of him and hope for the best.
Maybe if he would give us more updates on wtf he is doing we wouldnt be so mad. And if he doesnt like the negative comments then he can fucking disable them.

maybe people wouldn't be so peed off if admin didn't give any deadlines. now a lot of people don't trust him anymore so that was his one mistake. out of many of course. but i am sure he is working on dead frontier but maybe he has a goal of like one room per day for buildings. he could have at least told us what he is currently working on.
Allen Walker I for one rarely post on this blog due to the war between people giving constructive criticism and the people so eager to support the admin, although what you just said was pretty dumb to be honest yes all of us are playing this game for killing zombies why else would we be here although DF eventually starts going into a circle go to the end zone, loot some stuff, go back and profit. This gets pretty repetitive I loved it when back in 2D when we had buildings and having to clear them out to make a good base or when looting in them having a panic attack when the arrgo would spike and a ton of long arms would come running in. Granted the streets can be deadly at times but eventually all you going to have to do in run in circles and shoot at the zeds. Plus I have yet to see a supporter of admin give a actual reason on why it's okay for the admin to not live up to his dead lines ( sure i can understand now with his broken arm and other probs he had before but what about when he was sitting on his couch not updating the blog at all for 2-3 months?)
Well, if you are bored, then find something else to play with dude. Neil created this fine game, his ideas were brilliant. I believe in his decision, even though most of it is extracting money.
As per your last statement, i have yet to see a good enough reason for any of you to tell him what to do at any point. Neither of you all are his boss. We are simply using his "Program". We are users.

HE is the one that told US what he was going to do and then basically didn't do it. no one is heaping any more demands upon him than the very small expectations that he set up for himself by announcing features a long time ago that still don't exist yet.
The problem is that this is not an update. Development Blog is useless to put it in, because it is a copy and paste the code of another pistol with a slight modification. Is just a scam to make us spend money, real money. I wish you a speedy recovery AdminPwn because I still hope that sooner or later I will be able to play indoors, even though I've been deeply disappointed, your promises are air in the wind and believe little.
i like the new look, its a little more streamlined.. and it seems to load a load faster, my ping has gone down... which is great fro the chainsaw i use!!!
I love this game and woulda bought a corpse shooter if i had the cash, but i needed new winter boots for me and the dog... It's cold out there. But i will be buying a stat reset later this week for my 2 accounts. The setup i have isn't working for my play-style as it is now.
The real issue here is that admin is keeping quiet on how far along updates like interiors, barricades, and the next batch of missions are.
It doesn't bother me that it's taking a long time for these updates to come to be.
But it does bother me that we're all being left in the dark as far as progress goes.
Also, releasing a bunch of credit shop items and neglecting to mention anything about the most anticipated updates creates a poor image of admin, making it appear that he's only interested in milking people's cash and not delivering the updates promised.
Those of you who keep bashing admin are largely responsible for admin keeping quiet on progress, and those of you blindly supporting admin no matter what he does are mostly new to the game.
Please start working on the main features of the game, I'm tired of this waiting, you said you would get the main stuff out of the way first, looks like your doing the oppisite though..
I really doubt he's going to read any of this admin is his own boss, so none of us are going to tell him what to do. I think admin is tired of trying to please the dead frontier community, all this complaining, and these opinions aren't going to do any good, you're all just wasting your time and getting angry over nothing, as long as there are player's buying gm's and credit's admin isn't going to give a shit. I suggest you do what I do check the blog once a week or once a month. This used to be a badass game know it's just repetive and boring.
You are right. Admin never read everything we write, the lack of interest, to say nothing. Virtually 100% of users are dissatisfied, those who bear him out and continue to thank him, are his friends and relatives...sure! The game is too, too much, too monotonous, but: He is the creator of the game, so he decides how to be, so if he decides that the 3D version should not have the interior, the clan system, barricades, etc.. perfect, none of this should be, so it would be absurd to expect these things. The problem is that almost a year ago, had promised all these things and, what he did? Nothing, except for "updates" to be paid, too easy. If you continue with this laziness by doing nothing, and soon the "notivà " 3D is not enough and the reduction of users will be inevitable. The annual renewal of my GM for my two accounts, if you can already forget, and soon, users will be many who think so.
brute anything that can be added will soon be repetitive and boring. everything is. your job you afternoon most of the time. all other mmorgs that the primary objective is not keep advancing in missions. something like club penguin or minecraft gets repetitive and then people quit. i mean really admin adds interiors a new way to loot oh that is so amazing. barricading. oh running from the main holdout to a lot of buildings to fix up windows so you can go back to the holdout and get your money. really what makes the game not be to boring is the competition and pvp where you try to be better than everybody not just the game which almost anyone can be better than the game.what i mean by that is being able to pass it.
luis.401 Minecraft isn't really an mmorpg (if that's what you were implying) since the game servers are not hosted by Mojang. Its massive and an rpg but not necessarily online or multiplayer depending on how you play.
hey developers, just wanted to give some suggestion
weapons: scythe police baton RPG. but may need a new grenade ammo type
consumables: #dark coffee(to replace the boring look of speed boost) #steroid pills (for the damage boost) #small medkit (heals 2 times, one inventory space. like the 9999 ammo) #large medkit (etc etc. only in credit shop) #fruits (they are natural and should be available in Z apoc)
#also can cooked foods have a certain label on them so we can see easily in the inventory rather than holding mouse over them?

but suggestions anywhere don't go somewhere where they can have a chance of being added. trust me i know since i and no one have really seen any major updates in a long time. yeah so they did add martial arts weapons like the nodashi but that isn't really what some people asked for was it?
Okay... looting trees seems simple in theory, but it would take a bit of time to impliment correctly. But I do understand (vaugly) how it might work, but could it work really? Like right now, you loot something and get a random item that is avilable in that zone, but does lotting a specific thing cause you to get a special item all the time. That only works on mission based items, of which I'm sure those things are coded to loot those items specificly, but adding in a new tree type (or 6) and the new items to match as well as making the items only come off that one type of loot spot across the whole game is insane.
Its a hell a good idea, but just not something I would think their focusing on right now... like when the new weapons were released. Everyone SAID they wanted new weapons, but when they got the epic wepon list and the new complete list of dusk weapons AND a new set of corpse wepons, everyone just acted like it was a joke update that just to get people to spend more cash... not to metion the new stat boosters.
There are all the things he really did promise, new wepons. And no one even pretends to give a damn about it. WHY!?
So you don't have you interiors yet, who cares? If you could still change the game back and forth to classic and 3d, would you still play classic as it was? I don't think I would (maybe).
Hell, minecraft was finnally released as a full complete game, and people say that now its not as cool because it has an ending to it?! WHAT?!
This version of DF is basicly dead frontier DEMO. Because the "main" features of the game of here, but the "fine tuning" isn't finished yet.
Now this has been a long rant, that I'm usre only a really bored nerd will read, andthis won't reach an Admin within the next 6 hours, but I don't care. If anyone reads this, then I've made my point.
As many great ideas as the DF community have, this game is just too damn big for them to answer everyone with what they want, when they want it. This game will grow with the (informed and educated) input of its comunity, and althogh the final product may not be a game you (singular) want to play, it will a game that the comunity want to play as a whole, and the game that the dcevelopers want it to be.
the weapon part where they added more weapons isn't how the people wanted. they didn't want super high level ultimate weapons that are only available for a limited amount of time and cost a fortune. they wanted more varieties plus high level weapons that would stay for a long time and would be lootable if you where gm. and the only thing that made minecraft a full release game was that there was a end to it. other than that they will always mod it and the main developers will always add stuff to it until no one buys it till who knows when.

who knows if he's working on the game. maybe he went back to his phase of "doing nothing"...maybe he'll lose ALL of his motivation this time. from his posts, it seems like he has a team. the team must be pretty small if nothing is getting done. the only things that have been added were things that were useful to GM's or people with credits. so it does seem like he only cares about getting the money. but who knows, maybe he's secretly working on interiors and EVERYTHING else. that would be nice. but time will tell

Also because some of my friends have received their care from Neil, then the PC is able to use it, pay them doing updates, so the PC is able to use it. Updates on internal or other? No one...the conclusions to you.

Some of my GM friends had technical issues, and those problems were quickly resolved by the team. So Neil is obviously work hard for all the money you pay him, just not on content updates. Neither, that is the answer to your speculation (about secretly working on everything).
Interiors, and the 2D version is getting crappy. I mean you can't gain EXP...
I hope you put up a good Corpse Weapon next, like Corpse Crusher [Hammer/Axe], Corpse Piercer [Sniper Rifle] and Corpse Destroyer [M60 HMG].
But Admin, the game needs better Outpost Attack types, like the 2D version, cause you can choose to Intercept From Towers [Sniping], Defend Main Gate [All] or Junkyard [Up-close-and-personal style]. Missions too, atleast. Just call em' "Sidemissions". Still the same as Missions in 2D but lesser paying, no time limit and max 3 taken for the day, Cause the Missions are great. But it's just missing some good ol' missions from 2D, eh?
And whoever it was that suggested the Fruit Lootin' and medkit, good ideas.

I MISS GRINDING RED/GREEN LONG ARMS...AND BEHEMOTH AFTER KILIN HIM 8 TIMES. WISHED YOU erase the damn weak zombies at Fort, like Fort zone has their own special zombies and normal ones, like Red Long rms for instance. Oh, and DEATH ROW. My favorite hangout all day long too. Cause a little common sense...A Nasya's Holdout Leveled zombie at a Fort sounds ridiculous.

@ Shirley Thx... that makes a lot more sence than the traslator... his post seems reasonable now. I can see a lot of minor things getting fixed right now, like bad load times and lagg from too many active objects on screen. And that thing where if another player is nearby (as close as to be on minimap) zombies may not die when you unload on 'em untill you both attack it.
Also, other avatar lag is down too, other people don't glitch around the screem as much anymore, even if they are moving with sprint.

But in all seriousness, let DF CLASSIC GO FOR NOW!!! It was fun, but this has all the little things thatclassic didn't. I'm not going back to the days of no minimap, and although my exact numbers of my stats still aren't on screen, at least they work better now.
On a completely unrelated note. Special infected need to make sounds specific to them.. or at least one sound to let you know when their about to maul you. I'm tempted to just not add this part as anyone who has played Left 4 dead would understand the value of that.

to stop this trolling of things that we seem to do both willingly and unknowingly, I'm going to talk about the topic at hand- The corpse Shooter.
Now a few months ago, (or a year, i have no sense of time), we entered a little discussion about getting a new set of weapons to counteract the ungodly hard to obtain deadly Dusk weapons, as well as adding in new dusk weapons. I personally though their where gonna be called the dawn weapon/ armor set. The corpse set is that answer... a weapon and armour set that is a cut above the rest that can be obtained by anyone. And if you really can't pull for about 35 bucks to do something, then stop smoking pot and eating Subway for a week and see if the cash doesn't turn up. Note: that is a insult based on my own personal experience with my former friends, and is not aimed at anyone here in the DF community.
I just don't want the pistol because i can't afford ammo, but I could have bought it. It looks like a hell of a weapon, and actually does the most damage of any pistol class weapon. It has decent other stats and such, but really anyone with enough willpower could have obtained this thing if they wanted it. If you wanna get high class/ limited edition weps, then this is a gun for you. but if you wanna hard press your way thru the game, then that's the path you choose. All and all, i say that the weapons have (somewhat) nothing to do with money, and more to do with the team finally getting around to fulfilling some player wishes.... It's just not your wishes.

Okay, I've read ever last word of this blog since my last post. this will be the last post i do until an admin post a new topic. My final words on the matter are as such:
Corpse weapons are great weps, can be bought, sorta scam, all-around good things.
The game has had a few more minor updates. you just have to pay attention, but those little tweaks that make the game more realistic made the action worse.
The suggestion of fruit trees in-game i would sign a petition for to have it put in.
the game needs two things, a way to make the player feel more like they matter in-game, and a way for the community to have more interaction with each other... Better PVP, in-game way to form groups and identify friends and enemy players. As well as mic support maybe.

man this new version of unity or what ever sucks. my game lags all the time i can't even make one complete turn with my mouse with out lag. before the game runned so smoothly i never saw it lag. now i can't even play. it was just like max aggro with 2d and now no aggro in 3d. man this sucks. i wish it was fixed. and yes i have tried lowering settings but what ever.
These are the points that the community wants to improve/have: - Interior. - System of missions such as those of 2D (and therefore without expiry and more than one at a time). - Barricades. - OA with more choice (now is simply an area do so aggro, gives no emotions). - Best synchronization in multyplayer and enough with these immortal zombies. - Clan system. All updates promised but never seen before, and never will see...
If things don't shape up by may, i'm done. As far as we can -see- he's done -NOTHING- since last October. NORMAL game developers show the players little screenshot previews of what they are doing to prove they are doing -somthing-. Admin only releases re-vamped weapons to make money off all the CC noobs that think they are the shizzle for having all the end game guns at lv 20.
i read that he dislocated shoulder and needs surgery thats bad and i wish him a successful recovery however you can hire someone part time to help you with the work or something and if you deem that some of the work the hired person is not done correctly you can do some improvements to it later on when you heal,this game that you created generates actual income which is slowly but surely decreasing the people want serious improvements preferably the ones that Jimmy-83 stated above,really hope you read this
I think interior might take a while, imagine all the different interiors that would have to be made, houses,markets,warehouses,hospital,police station etc. and I don't think he's going to use the same interior of every building. It's probably going to be a different layout for each and then there's all the furniture and textures and any miscellaneous stuff. I'm hoping this is the reason it's taking so long because looting outside is getting boring. May'be he hasn't hired hired help because the engine and programming was done in a different manner, one that only neil understands. Hopefully this is one of the reasons theres a delay or maybe he doesnt trust anyone(like outside help).
No for one it's a unity engine not some engine he made up from scratch that only he can understand, second he once had hired someone to help him back in 2D but that guy ended up being a ass and scamming him by taking half of his money and leaving, which is what i think the main reason on why he is hesitant to get help

Admin paid someone to convert the 2D game to a newer version of flash, which would allow him to implement more new features. It was a half now, half later procedure.
The guy ran off with the first half of his money, and as a result, Admin remade the game in Unity - allowing him to make it 3D.
To be honest i think that adminpwn works on interiors but not really 100% if he really did that it would be out already(yes its a ton of work), but it really seems that he makes a special event weapon just to earn "Money" because thats what most developers care about, i am not dissing you adminpwn,i just think you can give 10% more

Admin, i think we are all in agreement that while new guns and gear are good, a game changer is what is needed. I played this game back in september of last year on a free account and it was alright. Other than some balancing and new items, nothing has changed.
I know that interiors and mission etc, take a lot of time, but just a small update to let us know that your still alive would be nice.

Also, the game is good.... 2d had good fetures, but they weren't really well defined. They worked but not at 100%, then again, they weren't suppose to be.
I think the new guns are cool... they cost more than I got to spend, but I like the game as it is now, and I don't care about interiors. Some new missions would be nice... but i can wait for those.

If you nubs would take a minute to look over Neils last few posts, you'll see that he dislocated his shoulder (for the umpteenth time) and was scheduled to have surgery in early Feb. He said it would be at least two months after the surgery (early Feb for those who can't keep up) before he could use his arm. That means he's doing everything either one-handed, or using his injured arm very little and won't be able to use it fully till at least the middle of next month.
Obviously what he's been trying to do is keep us pacified for the time being by giving us exp bonus weekends and a new corpse weapon until he can get back to work on the more complicated stuff, which will require the full use, or at least more use, of both of his arms. Ever try to write scripts one-handed? It's a pain in the ass and riddled with errors which would cause him to spend even more time double checking everything.
Long story short: Stop your damn bitching and be patient. Neil may be a god to thousands of noobs, but he still has to heal just like the rest of us mortals.
In a few days i shall expire on GM annual for my account (liv 160, with dusk and gau-19, i am not one of the many babies who play) and certainly for this game, we do not spend more than a $ Now too much time since the last update serious...indeed even i remember which is the last major upgrade. They are too tired of promises which are not maintained and i am sure that more and more users think so. For me this game is dead!!!

Too much competition is upcoming (Class 3 & The Walking Dead game), and Dead Frontier will well and truly be fucked. It's a shame because Neil had a hell of a head start over the competition but failed to do anything. D.F. Is a fine game, but the past 6 months has really shown a lot of decline in the game. Neil had a huge head start, all of a sudden the zombie genre explodes and now DF is facing a tonne of competition, If admin's ever heard of Mojang, creators of minecraft, they have 25 workers, and pump out updates weekly, Neil should have taken the money from the Amputator sales, and got a development team. Neil used his time wrong, that's it. I wish him and the game luck.
Check the last few threads before Neil injured his shoulder (pay particular attention to the comments). Everybody was enthusiastic about the progress that he was making. Also look at the comments on the thread about his shoulder. Everybody was eagerly supporting him and telling him to take his time and heal up, saying they will support him the entire time.
Then, after he's been out of commission for a little over a month, which is half the time you were all so willing to support him through, the bitching begins to start. How quickly we forget about the promises we make and the things we say we'll do. If you're tired of waiting for interiors, go play Combat arms or something of that nature, and check in every now and again to see what's going on. Don't come in here and start bitching after you all were so willing to support him earlier.
Btw, I'm not a "newcomer". I've been happily supporting this game for over three years. This same bitching and complaining was going on back when it was 2D, and even more bitching and whining was happening during the transition to 3D. People bitched about how GM's shouldn't get to test the demos first, they bitched about how long it was taking for each demo, they bitched about the bugs when 3D first came out, they bitched about the limited variety of zombies. And each time he popped out a new update everybody started riding his dick again. I swear you're all like 5 y/o kids with ADD on meth and lots of caffeine.

You said that just becourse we support your game financially doesn't make us your boss, but it does. Don't put any more money into this game, people. Neil's silence speaks more than a thousand words, and as someone previously mentioned, DF is no longer in development.

Couldn't agree more! I like how Undead Labs have described the game as a "simulation" too. They have put so much work into it I can't wait to hear more news. Trading my PS3 for an Xbox just for Class 3/4 (Something I should've done a long time ago lol).
To those complaining about having no interiors and no new missions. You only have 3 options to choose and i know that you won't choose the third but it's still optional. 1)Keep bugging admin about the interiors and missions even though he is going to ignore you. 2) Do what most people are saying and play something else. 3)Bug admin to reinstate 2d since it does have interiors and several missions that can be done in a day. These are the only options you have.
What a waste of Potential, its basically the only free, 3D game which is entirely devoted to zombies. Combat arms zombie mode is a joke and alot of people who play Dead Frontier have low grade rigs, I play Die2nite a text based zombie game with no action but alot of player to player interaction and moral decisions and I get a bigger thrill. Dead Frontier has really gone down hill even before Neils injury, least he could do is stop the ultra haters but posting something telling us the reason he is out of action is because of his injurie, not ignoring the problem. Wanna bet if the game starts rapidly declining in profits he'll be right on it "Hey Guys no I'm not dead but finally after all this time I'm back to working hard" =)
its funny how games like minecraft were made a while after neil started 3d and minecraft has been done for a while now...its kinda what i do i start something with all the motivation but after a few months or sometimes even years i get bored of it and normally start it over again...im guessing thats what he did with 3d but now another few years have gone by and the more it progresses the less and less the game develops...i think hes getting bored of it i mean hes already got the income he needs what else does he want? im sure the motivation of keeping the community happy was a good motivation for a while but but after that its just not enough thats why the motivation for money kicks in but now im guessing hes already got that and hes sololy working on that...i honestly dont think we will be seeing another update anytime soon for something like interiors...

i acctually did my research but i misspoke. i only ment minecraft was started after dead frontier was made not 3d. but my point is minecraft was also made by one man and is still finished. neil has been working alot longer but i understand with the setbacks like dislocating his arm. we havent heard from neil for over a month now and ive stoped playing dead frontier...i never got a gold membership and im level 67. im probably not ever going to unless neil completly blows me away with something i just cant refuse to spend money on. this is a great game but its not nearly worth the 7 plus dollars monthly. even xbox live is cheaper than that. thats my opinion though and neil continuosly just makes the game harder for non members if you dont have a membership. i dont have room to say how much the double exp requirment pissed me off because im not paying for the game but i really dislike how much you have to pay for the membership i mean really?...im going to once again use minecraft as an example, minecraft is only around $20 last time i checked. dead frontier is a MUCH better game in my opinion but its 3 times as much money for a single year i know the guy has to make a living but i doubt this game will get many more buyers with prices like this.

pretty cool, a text-based zombie game always works out... But don't go copying art from DF. It's most likely copyrighted and you can get sued for it... 6 months since those 40 missions were just getting the finishing touches. Did you forget about them Neil? I imagine you were sidetracked by all those other things in life and the game. Not that many of them will be at FP but here's just a little nudge to remind you so I might get something new to do for a day or two.

ReplyDeleteI was pure melee untill all the new enemies were added, and the grinder was the best saw at the time and it fell on its face in pastor. ESPECIALLY the first week before the tweeks. 4 flaming wraith out side of the Fort gate. and my best weapon was a grinder. Never complained. Just got excited for the progress and the notion that more powerful saws would be added. And here we are.
And now, a badass revolver thats stronger than my Alpha Bull, faster reload AND nearly FOUR times the clip size.. That. Rules.
Point is we all obviously love the game, and we all want to see it nearing completion sooner than later. But i'd rather see it done right and i know when its done, this game will be the ultimate. Besides, if you think Neil should hire a team to get the updates YOU want, that takes money. AKA Credit Shop Exclusives. So if you REALLY support the game, then support it. Look at the big picture and wait.

Just my two cents, people who are mad, totally justified. People defending him... kind of not. You'll need a better argument. You act like this shows a lot of work and "an update is an update". Well... no. Taking the code from another pistol, changing a few number values so it does more damage or whatever, and then slapping on the artists work over it is not that hard, nor an "update". But I understand that Neil is still probably hard at work and we'll get nicer things soon. Just... stop this. Its obvious that he's making more and more powerful weapons in an attempt to make everyone want it and buy it. But if you need money to continue production, give us something small we all want or care for. Not just a new "OMGUBERWEAPON" every month.

Its hilarious how Neil is taking money out of you guys. As mentioned by Josh, these "updates" are not as significant as improvements like adding missions. I left this game in october 2011 thinking maybe it would be done around January as Neil said before.

It's almost been two years since 3D came out. And what's happened since then? New monsters, half-assed missions, weather cycle and background music.
Back in 2D, within the same amount of time, missions, bosses, interiors, new avatars, barricading, multiplayer, multiple map changes and the OA system were added.
You have no excuse whatsoever for the disaster DF has become in two years, Neil. Absolutely none whatsoever.

Only reason it would be harder is if the gameplay changed to a more 3D aspect, like GG23 said. Also, seeing as how its on a pre-made engine, it would be exactly the same anyway. I am not really criticizing the game so much as the development(although I could if you all want me to).
The game is okay, but the game needs more significant improvement. Sure, subtract one arm from Neil, but add pairs of arms more from the development team he has or supposely has(Do not use the money excuse anymore. I am sick and tired of that). Also, what is unique about this game? I would like to know the answer to that.
It's a wonderful thing that Neil has stopped posting. That is where he was enforcing the "empty" promise for every player. This could possibly be a discrete way of hiding that "empty promise".
GM prices are ridiculous, by the way. I say this as a poor hispanic, but even I value every cent I possess. Vaultmaster, you can go ahead and spend your money how you wish to. It is most likely, though, what the possible opportunist Neil wants from you.
Now I know some of you might say to the post above this post : " Well that's your loss ", " Well too bad ", or also " Well you're the only one wanting 2D back " or something similar than these words... BUT I JUST WANT 2D!!!

I believe AdminPwn is perfectly aware of what you all think of him, be it good or bad. Because he probably can't even get on his own game or come here with out it hitting him in the face. And to be honest. If I was him, I wouldn't really be MOTIVATED to work on a game when everywhere I went, either to my Dev Blog, In the actual game, or Forums everybody was hatin' on me.
Eventually I'd get fed up with the hatin' and get rid of it, but I don't know how AdminPwn would deal with it. And I'm not "kissing his ass" or some such. I'm stating what I'm seeing. I think AdminPwn should take care of himself. If AdminPwn DIDN'T then there would be no progress on the game anyways and no hope of there ever being any, if you catch my drift. However, I'm not saying Admin should take all the time in the world. The game is horribly under completed and I am certain he is aware of this and as soon as he can do what needs to be done he will do it, and whatever means should be taken to complete that goal.
I am not here "kissing his ass" nor am I insulting him. I am giving him the MOTIVATION he needs to get well and to WANT to work on his game. This is what he needs more of. He should want to come here, come to his game, or his forums. You make the choice. Do you think harsh words or overly sugar coated compliments will bring about Motivation, Progress, or most of all. AdminPwn himself? Neither of the above will do it entirely. Insults will destroy motivation or result in only provoking him. Sugar Coated Compliments may make him go complacent and lazy again.

ReplyDeleteyeah well i have like 2 scientist accounts level 28 and 21. a level 31 farmer. a level 18 doctor, a level 15 engineer, a level 1 chef who i might not use till all the others are level 25 or 31. my main level 28 ish and i have to say i leveled him up in like a month when it took me a year for all the others. a used to be main level 41. then a shotgun account i used to try out shotguns since i really wanted to try them out. so all of these make about around 10k a week if i don't spend anything so i am in a good place but you titanus made acoount just for the wepons which isn't going get you as much. unless of course you made them scientist or farmers ect.. also nice way of talking back to that insult. not a angrily sort of way

ReplyDeleteHow do people know admin is lazy, for all you know, he could be working his but off on interiors or trying to pay the bills, respect what he is doing because you don't know what he's doing or how hard he is working. You guys don't understand what it may take to actually develop interiors, maybe he has to go through the whole entire map, redesigning buildings and such, typing endless codes. If that were the case, of course it would take forever to make interiors. So what if he is making LE items, they wouldn't take as long to make, as they are a small piece to the game and if anything, he could take other weapons statistics and modify em, adding a new picture. I don't know exactly how he does it, but i doubt it would take a long time and interfere with big updates. I love deadfrontier, and even if it does get repetitive, play another game for the time being. Do you think flaming would help him accomplish anything? Just be respectful and understanding of him and hope for the best.

DeleteAllen Walker I for one rarely post on this blog due to the war between people giving constructive criticism and the people so eager to support the admin, although what you just said was pretty dumb to be honest yes all of us are playing this game for killing zombies why else would we be here although DF eventually starts going into a circle go to the end zone, loot some stuff, go back and profit. This gets pretty repetitive I loved it when back in 2D when we had buildings and having to clear them out to make a good base or when looting in them having a panic attack when the arrgo would spike and a ton of long arms would come running in. Granted the streets can be deadly at times but eventually all you going to have to do in run in circles and shoot at the zeds. Plus I have yet to see a supporter of admin give a actual reason on why it's okay for the admin to not live up to his dead lines ( sure i can understand now with his broken arm and other probs he had before but what about when he was sitting on his couch not updating the blog at all for 2-3 months?)

ReplyDeleteThe real issue here is that admin is keeping quiet on how far along updates like interiors, barricades, and the next batch of missions are.
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't bother me that it's taking a long time for these updates to come to be.
But it does bother me that we're all being left in the dark as far as progress goes.
Also, releasing a bunch of credit shop items and neglecting to mention anything about the most anticipated updates creates a poor image of admin, making it appear that he's only interested in milking people's cash and not delivering the updates promised.
Those of you who keep bashing admin are largely responsible for admin keeping quiet on progress, and those of you blindly supporting admin no matter what he does are mostly new to the game.
Please start working on the main features of the game, I'm tired of this waiting, you said you would get the main stuff out of the way first, looks like your doing the oppisite though..

The game is too, too much, too monotonous, but:
He is the creator of the game, so he decides how to be, so if he decides that the 3D version should not have the interior, the clan system, barricades, etc.. perfect, none of this should be, so it would be absurd to expect these things.
The problem is that almost a year ago, had promised all these things and, what he did? Nothing, except for "updates" to be paid, too easy.
If you continue with this laziness by doing nothing, and soon the "notivà " 3D is not enough and the reduction of users will be inevitable.
The annual renewal of my GM for my two accounts, if you can already forget, and soon, users will be many who think so.
brute anything that can be added will soon be repetitive and boring. everything is. your job you afternoon most of the time. all other mmorgs that the primary objective is not keep advancing in missions. something like club penguin or minecraft gets repetitive and then people quit. i mean really admin adds interiors a new way to loot oh that is so amazing. barricading. oh running from the main holdout to a lot of buildings to fix up windows so you can go back to the holdout and get your money. really what makes the game not be to boring is the competition and pvp where you try to be better than everybody not just the game which almost anyone can be better than the game.what i mean by that is being able to pass it.

ReplyDeleteLike right now, you loot something and get a random item that is avilable in that zone, but does lotting a specific thing cause you to get a special item all the time. That only works on mission based items, of which I'm sure those things are coded to loot those items specificly, but adding in a new tree type (or 6) and the new items to match as well as making the items only come off that one type of loot spot across the whole game is insane.
Its a hell a good idea, but just not something I would think their focusing on right now... like when the new weapons were released. Everyone SAID they wanted new weapons, but when they got the epic wepon list and the new complete list of dusk weapons AND a new set of corpse wepons, everyone just acted like it was a joke update that just to get people to spend more cash... not to metion the new stat boosters.
There are all the things he really did promise, new wepons. And no one even pretends to give a damn about it. WHY!?
So you don't have you interiors yet, who cares? If you could still change the game back and forth to classic and 3d, would you still play classic as it was? I don't think I would (maybe).
Hell, minecraft was finnally released as a full complete game, and people say that now its not as cool because it has an ending to it?! WHAT?!
This version of DF is basicly dead frontier DEMO. Because the "main" features of the game of here, but the "fine tuning" isn't finished yet.
Now this has been a long rant, that I'm usre only a really bored nerd will read, andthis won't reach an Admin within the next 6 hours, but I don't care. If anyone reads this, then I've made my point.
As many great ideas as the DF community have, this game is just too damn big for them to answer everyone with what they want, when they want it. This game will grow with the (informed and educated) input of its comunity, and althogh the final product may not be a game you (singular) want to play, it will a game that the comunity want to play as a whole, and the game that the dcevelopers want it to be.
the weapon part where they added more weapons isn't how the people wanted. they didn't want super high level ultimate weapons that are only available for a limited amount of time and cost a fortune. they wanted more varieties plus high level weapons that would stay for a long time and would be lootable if you where gm. and the only thing that made minecraft a full release game was that there was a end to it. other than that they will always mod it and the main developers will always add stuff to it until no one buys it till who knows when.

Some of my GM friends had technical issues, and those problems were quickly resolved by the team. So Neil is obviously work hard for all the money you pay him, just not on content updates.

Interiors, and the 2D version is getting crappy. I mean you can't gain EXP...
I hope you put up a good Corpse Weapon next, like Corpse Crusher [Hammer/Axe], Corpse Piercer [Sniper Rifle] and Corpse Destroyer [M60 HMG].
But Admin, the game needs better Outpost Attack types, like the 2D version, cause you can choose to Intercept From Towers [Sniping], Defend Main Gate [All] or Junkyard [Up-close-and-personal style]. Missions too, atleast. Just call em' "Sidemissions". Still the same as Missions in 2D but lesser paying, no time limit and max 3 taken for the day, Cause the Missions are great. But it's just missing some good ol' missions from 2D, eh?
And whoever it was that suggested the Fruit Lootin' and medkit, good ideas.

I can see a lot of minor things getting fixed right now, like bad load times and lagg from too many active objects on screen. And that thing where if another player is nearby (as close as to be on minimap) zombies may not die when you unload on 'em untill you both attack it.
Also, other avatar lag is down too, other people don't glitch around the screem as much anymore, even if they are moving with sprint.

ReplyDeleteNow a few months ago, (or a year, i have no sense of time), we entered a little discussion about getting a new set of weapons to counteract the ungodly hard to obtain deadly Dusk weapons, as well as adding in new dusk weapons.
I personally though their where gonna be called the dawn weapon/ armor set.
The corpse set is that answer... a weapon and armour set that is a cut above the rest that can be obtained by anyone. And if you really can't pull for about 35 bucks to do something, then stop smoking pot and eating Subway for a week and see if the cash doesn't turn up.
Note: that is a insult based on my own personal experience with my former friends, and is not aimed at anyone here in the DF community.
I just don't want the pistol because i can't afford ammo, but I could have bought it. It looks like a hell of a weapon, and actually does the most damage of any pistol class weapon. It has decent other stats and such, but really anyone with enough willpower could have obtained this thing if they wanted it. If you wanna get high class/ limited edition weps, then this is a gun for you. but if you wanna hard press your way thru the game, then that's the path you choose.
All and all, i say that the weapons have (somewhat) nothing to do with money, and more to do with the team finally getting around to fulfilling some player wishes.... It's just not your wishes.

Okay, I've read ever last word of this blog since my last post. this will be the last post i do until an admin post a new topic. My final words on the matter are as such:
DeleteCorpse weapons are great weps, can be bought, sorta scam, all-around good things.
The game has had a few more minor updates. you just have to pay attention, but those little tweaks that make the game more realistic made the action worse.
The suggestion of fruit trees in-game i would sign a petition for to have it put in.
the game needs two things, a way to make the player feel more like they matter in-game, and a way for the community to have more interaction with each other... Better PVP, in-game way to form groups and identify friends and enemy players. As well as mic support maybe.

man this new version of unity or what ever sucks. my game lags all the time i can't even make one complete turn with my mouse with out lag. before the game runned so smoothly i never saw it lag. now i can't even play. it was just like max aggro with 2d and now no aggro in 3d. man this sucks. i wish it was fixed. and yes i have tried lowering settings but what ever.

- System of missions such as those of 2D (and therefore without expiry and more than one at a time).
- Barricades.
- OA with more choice (now is simply an area do so aggro, gives no emotions).
- Best synchronization in multyplayer and enough with these immortal zombies.
- Clan system.
All updates promised but never seen before, and never will see...

NORMAL game developers show the players little screenshot previews of what they are doing to prove they are doing -somthing-. DeleteI think interior might take a while, imagine all the different interiors that would have to be made, houses,markets,warehouses,hospital,police station etc. and I don't think he's going to use the same interior of every building. It's probably going to be a different layout for each and then there's all the furniture and textures and any miscellaneous stuff. I'm hoping this is the reason it's taking so long because looting outside is getting boring. May'be he hasn't hired hired help because the engine and programming was done in a different manner, one that only neil understands.

Also, the game is good.... 2d had good fetures, but they weren't really well defined. They worked but not at 100%, then again, they weren't suppose to be.
I think the new guns are cool... they cost more than I got to spend, but I like the game as it is now, and I don't care about interiors. Some new missions would be nice... but i can wait for those.

ReplyDeleteIf you nubs would take a minute to look over Neils last few posts, you'll see that he dislocated his shoulder (for the umpteenth time) and was scheduled to have surgery in early Feb. He said it would be at least two months after the surgery (early Feb for those who can't keep up) before he could use his arm. That means he's doing everything either one-handed, or using his injured arm very little and won't be able to use it fully till at least the middle of next month.
ReplyDeleteObviously what he's been trying to do is keep us pacified for the time being by giving us exp bonus weekends and a new corpse weapon until he can get back to work on the more complicated stuff, which will require the full use, or at least more use, of both of his arms. Ever try to write scripts one-handed? It's a pain in the ass and riddled with errors which would cause him to spend even more time double checking everything.
Long story short: Stop your damn bitching and be patient. Neil may be a god to thousands of noobs, but he still has to heal just like the rest of us mortals.

Too much competition is upcoming (Class 3 & The Walking Dead game), and Dead Frontier will well and truly be fucked. It's a shame because Neil had a hell of a head start over the competition but failed to do anything. Shame to see a game I once really enjoyed be dragged through the dirt like this, but come on people, this game is no longer in development.

DeleteD.F. Is a fine game, but the past 6 months has really shown a lot of decline in the game. Neil had a huge head start, all of a sudden the zombie genre explodes and now DF is facing a tonne of competition, If admin's ever heard of Mojang, creators of minecraft, they have 25 workers, and pump out updates weekly, Neil should have taken the money from the Amputator sales, and got a development team. Neil used his time wrong, that's it. I wish him and the game luck.

Also look at the comments on the thread about his shoulder. Everybody was eagerly supporting him and telling him to take his time and heal up, saying they will support him the entire time.

If you're tired of waiting for interiors, go play Combat arms or something of that nature, and check in every now and again to see what's going on. Btw, I'm not a "newcomer". I've been happily supporting this game for over three years. This same bitching and complaining was going on back when it was 2D, and even more bitching and whining was happening during the transition to 3D. People bitched about how GM's shouldn't get to test the demos first, they bitched about how long it was taking for each demo, they bitched about the bugs when 3D first came out, they bitched about the limited variety of zombies. And each time he popped out a new update everybody started riding his dick again. I swear you're all like 5 y/o kids with ADD on meth and lots of caffeine.

Dead Frontier has really gone down hill even before Neils injury, least he could do is stop the ultra haters but posting something telling us the reason he is out of action is because of his injurie, not ignoring the problem.

its funny how games like minecraft were made a while after neil started 3d and minecraft has been done for a while now...its kinda what i do i start something with all the motivation but after a few months or sometimes even years i get bored of it and normally start it over again...im guessing thats what he did with 3d but now another few years have gone by and the more it progresses the less and less the game develops...i think hes getting bored of it i mean hes already got the income he needs what else does he want? im sure the motivation of keeping the community happy was a good motivation for a while but but after that its just not enough thats why the motivation for money kicks in but now im guessing hes already got that and hes sololy working on that...i honestly dont think we will be seeing another update anytime soon for something like interiors...

i acctually did my research but i misspoke. i only ment minecraft was started after dead frontier was made not 3d. but my point is minecraft was also made by one man and is still finished. neil has been working alot longer but i understand with the setbacks like dislocating his arm. we havent heard from neil for over a month now and ive stoped playing dead frontier...i never got a gold membership and im level 67. im probably not ever going to unless neil completly blows me away with something i just cant refuse to spend money on. this is a great game but its not nearly worth the 7 plus dollars monthly. even xbox live is cheaper than that. thats my opinion though and neil continuosly just makes the game harder for non members if you dont have a membership. i dont have room to say how much the double exp requirment pissed me off because im not paying for the game but i really dislike how much you have to pay for the membership i mean really?...im going to once again use minecraft as an example, minecraft is only around $20 last time i checked. dead frontier is a MUCH better game in my opinion but its 3 times as much money for a single year i know the guy has to make a living but i doubt this game will get many more buyers with prices like this.

pretty cool, a text-based zombie game always works out... But don't go copying art from DF. It's most likely copyrighted and you can get sued for it...

6 months since those 40 missions were just getting the finishing touches. Did you forget about them Neil? I imagine you were sidetracked by all those other things in life and the game. Not that many of them will be at FP but here's just a little nudge to remind you so I might get something new to do for a day or two.
