To celebrate Christmas 2010 I've released a new set of limited edition items - Christmas Gifts. Each gift contains one random piece of equipment, which is guaranteed to be worth substantially more than the cost of the gift itself. There are two types, standard and elite which are now available from the Credit Shop.
This amazing deal will finish on the 1st of January 2011, so hurry up and get them while you still can!

ReplyDeleteHey Admin you should really lower the prices in the Credit Shop. $60.00 for a trench coat...c'mon.
ReplyDeleteDear Admin, I typically boycott all Christmas gift giving and instead just by myself something really nice... well I figured I'd spend some of my credits I had from getting a gold membership on one of the elite items since it couldn't hurt anything... low and behold I got the very exterminator reactive xt that I've been looking for for months now. Thank you from the bottom of my little zombie hating heart. Keep up the good work.

p.s. the new outpost areas are awesome.
Ha! This Update I nothing for your Average F2P Player. . . Unless he has some friends with credits. . . :P
ReplyDeleteNeil you need to change the login system, hackers are hacking other players accounts with hacking programs such as keyloggers, and trojans. We need to login with email instead of using the username system.

Awesome news Neil. These limited edition Christmas items sound like a great way to celebrate the holidays. I hope the funds will allow you to add more features to Dead Frontier over the coming months. All the best to you and your family.
ReplyDeleteDear Neil, you should really lower the Dead Frontier Gold Membership and Credit shop prices, we are not going to waste our 100 Euros on virual pixels. Well unless the one who spends 100 euros for pixels is dumb. But really Neil, ever heard of minecraft? Search for it if you don't know but really Minecraft beats Dead Frontier.
ReplyDeleteYou don't have to waste 100 Euros to feel satisfaction on minecraft, it only costs 10 euros. And yes i know you have to pay your team, so does Notch. But really why overprice it?
It's like leaving us in the dust.
@ Max:
ReplyDeleteIt's his game and his choice to whether or not to lower the price for using DF's shortcut.
From what I've read on the MineCraft website and from videos on it, its a F2P game with the shortcut option of as you stated "[something that] only costs 10 euros." MineCraft also has superbly low quality. Dead Frontier on the other hand, gives more in contrast to MineCraft. Higher graphics quality, and IMO gameplay. All of this is achieved through many more hours of coding on Neil and his team's part, also in contrast with what MineCraft seems to be at.
I am not a GM, but I don't need to be in order to have fun in Dead Frontier, nor any game.
"You don't have to waste 100 Euros to feel satisfaction on minecraft, it only costs 10 euros." BUT you're still "wasting" an amount of Euros.
Lastly, there is a large part of the DF community of which consists of adults. This MMORPG is TARGETED at adults, who in this industrialized modern world work for a living. They HAVE the money, with which they have the decision to what to do with that money.

ReplyDeleteWe are not talking about graphics, you sound like one of those whiny MW2 Boycott poeple that think everything without good graphics is lame.
ReplyDeleteNo you are not wasting money, on minecraft. It's a permanent game and not like: Give us your money so you win. That's like taunting, also Adults know that it's a waste of money and also it's called marketing tricks. Unless they are shellfish.
Hey max, Why don't you go back to playing something more your style. Like Runescape.
ReplyDelete-Mackofspades
No, I don't play MW2.
ReplyDeleteI understood your request as being about prices between the two games. What determines prices, quality, is it not - therefore the bits and pieces of a game including graphics and gameplay fall under what helps to determine pricing? Even without the graphics, (2D DF for example/or just a flash zombie game) I favor DF's gameplay, more than the current Java version of MineCraft, which is a simple "sandbox construction game" -http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Minecraft_Wiki.
Initially I thought MineCraft was F2P like DeadFrontier. Then I just looked up more about it in the "Pre-Purchase" section and I see what you're talking about 10£ for the entire game itself. I realize MineCraft is different from DF under the terms that in DF you have the option of buying benefits(Gold Membership) (shortcut). In MineCraft you're right, (at least atm) there's no "shortcut" or sort of membership payment.
I know you don't play MW2 I ment you sound like.
ReplyDeleteAnd there are two versions of minecraft: Minecraft Alpha and Minecraft Classic.
Classic is the construction version You were correct, but there is also alpha, with enemies and survival. With Minecraft i ment both i hope you understand it.
Also what about not lowering the price of membership, but just make it a permenant membership.
Also to Stephan/MackofSpades
I hate runescape, and i don't play it.
The connection has timed out
ReplyDeleteThe server at www.deadfrontier.com is taking too long to respond.... hmm.. whats wrong man... help me... btw my id for df is poppingar
